Shop above the Main Road

May 16, 2008

Well, I guess I finally made it!

Here I am in Woodstock on the corner of Main Road and Roodebloem plying my trade. It’s what  always wanted: a shop above the street, noisy, bustling. I think I’ll stay a while.

No more pooling around…

May 7, 2008

Well, as the winter sets in here in Cape Town, this man turns to work. Things change. The leaves fall from the trees, losing their colour; the ivy reddens, while the sky grows grey and dark. Yet one thing turns to green: the pool. Now neglected, even by the children; covered in a frayed net,  the pump running fewer hours to reduce electricity, where, or rather what, else to turn, but that pea-soup shade. Blue will have to wait, for the skies of summer, and the Blue 52 infomercials that Noah loves so much.
